Lionel Messi scores five goals in a Champions League match, “amazing!” Therefore I could not be the only one without saying something on behalf of the great Messi and Messi's Five Goals. Professional players from around the world succumbed to Messi's magical feet.
Twitter went off the hook with everyone hailing Messi’s performance. Now you can watch all the goals from this historic match between FC Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen, and read some tweets from professional players from around the world.
Have you heard of a channel called, “Versus?” Well, neither have I, and neither has half the TV viewing audience in the United States, according to USA Today. What does this mean? Well it means a name change and repositioning of this cable channel from “Versus” to “NBC Sports Network.” And for American soccer fans it means MLS on NBC!
It seems as though “NBC Sports Network” is betting highly on the growth potential of MLS, but they are not quite ready to bet totally on soccer just yet. I don’t expect this channel to become like “FOX Soccer Channel,” as it seems the channel will be strongly focused on NHL as well as many other sports.
NBC Sports Network will be just another sports channel, not focused directly towards soccer, which sucks. NBC Sports Network will provide Olympic qualifying tournament for the CONCACAF, Other U.S. men's and women's national team games are planned, and the first of the network's roughly 40 MLS contests will be televised on March 11 (additional games will air on NBC). Programming will consist of Olympic games, Fishing, Hunting, and NHL as the base of the networks focus will make up the majority of it’s programming.
So in my point of view NBC Sports Network programming will incorporate all the unpopular sports in America. Unfortunately, soccer is part of NBC’s/America's “uncool” crowd. So once again we sit at the uncool table in the cafeteria, "doooogh!"
However, NBC Sports Network has produced a nice TV commercial, which we can all enjoy. I can’t wait for the day soccer is actually a real money making contender in the United States!
At the end of the year it is always fun to look back and remember all the great soccer moments that happened. There were a lot of moments and below are a few videos that display some of 2011’s most memorable soccer highlights.

Who is the better soccer player Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? Well, I think 90% of the world population agree Messi is the best in the world. However, Cristiano Ronaldo's skill, strength and athleticism is nothing to be ashamed of.
Cristiano Ronaldo, is in fact one of the best players to have played the game. He is a dominant force, and his skill, vision and speed of thought is impressive. Little Messi is just not of this world, and his amazing team that supports him is almost as impressive. Either you're a Messi fan or Cristiano Ronaldo fan, it's without a doubt they have given us some nice goals to watch. Messi leads the scoring table with 29 goals in 26 games. Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7) is right on Messi's heels with 25 goals in 27 games. (Numbers reflect goals in all tournaments and competitions up to date 11-25-2011).
