Barcelona FC Players Show their YOUTH “ID Cards”

We all were kids once, bright eyed and rosy cheeked snot nosed rug rats. The difference is some of us grew up to be older snot nose human beings. Mere mortals living our daily lives in a zombie comatose of work and personal life. We watch as the peers we played with as youngsters; who were also once bugger nosed twerps, become the elite of soccer right before our very eyes. Life is funny this way, how some folks fall to be unknowns and some folks rise to greatness. We watch as some of our peers grow in wealth, either in soccer or in work, and it sometimes seems  almost effortless for these people. Regardless of your greatness or shortcomings, when looking at Barcelona FC's elites "First ID cards" makes me remember my first card, and I had a bit of nostalgia of my time playing and the chances lost and/or gained. We were all young once, and despite our soccer achievements we should never stop the love or the playing of the game. In essence, the passion still sparkles inside us, regardless of fame and fortune for we are all peasants to the game. Read more

Affection Between Two Peruvian Players

Peruvian TV captured some "curious" display of affection between two members of Peruvian soccer club, Sporting Cristal. During "regular" practice the players Giancarlo Casas and Yoshimar Yotún, embraced, laughed, hugged and even kissed.

The affection was not overlooked by Sporting Cristal directors, and this sort of "group cohesion methods" has been "prohibited by the club;" even though, disciplinary action has not been confirmed by the media. The two have said that they are heterosexual and that they are only very good friends. Needless to say I don't feel this situation will go away anytime soon, as it gives great trash talking ammunition to all rival teams. My only observation is, if Sporting Cristal want's to really unite it's team, they should include the entire group and have one massive hugging section, but maybe that might become a different type of athletic activity for only mature audiences. After the game Korean friends commented about how awesome Park is. The fact is, Park isn’t awesome; he is a great workhorse who had some very good luck. He play’s a role for Manchester United, and he fit’s that role perfectly. We should actually congratulate Sir Alex Ferguson, for Park’s “greatness.” He saw in Park, what many coaches probably wouldn’t have seen, a secrete weapon! He integrated Park into the Manchester system, and created a player that we now see as, “awesome.” Read more
